The Key Elder Club provides respite for people living with forms of dementia and also provides time for care partners to take a breath.
The Citrus County Libraries will be adding to their support of people living with dementia by providing a Memory Café’ once a month to both the care partners and the person living with dementia to engage in crafts and music.
Citrus Memorial Health Foundation YMCA is providing a Memory Café’ twice a month in the Lecanto location and once a month in their Crystal River location. This is focused on crafts and music, and they may even have an addition Chair Yoga or Tia Chi for both the care partners and the person living with dementia.
Another one of the programs that is exciting, and hopeful, is our support and mentorship of Lecanto High School Dementia Awareness Club. These bright, young, men and women represent the hope for a future where dementia is better understood, and higher standards of compassionate care will be practiced throughout our community.
